As the Chairperson of SHOW-SAFE, Kiki Courtelis brings an unparalleled depth of experience, leadership, and passion to the organization. Her long-standing involvement in both the dog show and horse racing communities, coupled with her successful track record in business and non-profit management, uniquely positions her to guide SHOW-SAFE‘s mission forward.

Moreover, Kiki has answered the call to service by dedicating significant resources to SHOW-SAFE, demonstrating her deep belief in the organization’s mission. Her ability to mobilize resources, combined with her extensive network and experience in high-stakes fundraising, will greatly benefit SHOW-SAFE‘s efforts to educate, raise awareness, and foster a safe and inclusive environment within the dog exhibition community.

Kiki Courtelis has been deeply involved in the dog show and horse communities since childhood in Florida. What began with a backyard pony evolved into a successful career training and raising champion Arabian show horses with the family farm, Town and Country Farms. In 2002, Kiki and her mother decided to enter the thoroughbred racing world as commercial breeders and in 2007, they moved their operation to Lexington, KY. As President of Town and Country Farms, Kiki oversees all aspects of the farm, including thoroughbred breeding, racehorse management, sales, and investment opportunities. Her dedication to the welfare of her horses, a passion inherited from her mother, is unmatched.

Kiki’s journey into the dog show world began in 2004, where she quickly became a prominent figure recognized for her commitment to excellence and the well-being of all participants. She breeds champion Rhodesian Ridgebacks with Tammy Lynch’s, Adili Ridgebacks who are the only Gold level AKC Breeders of Merit in the breed. Together, Kiki and Tammy have provided resources for university medical studies to better testing for the breed.
Bringing a wealth of professional experience to SHOW-SAFE, Kiki’s background in business and non-profit management has equipped her with expertise in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and fundraising—skills essential for advancing SHOW-SAFE’s mission. Her public service includes serving as Massachusetts Director of Development for the Metropolitan District Commission, overseeing over 30,000 acres of parkland, and as Massachusetts’ Director on the Governor’s Board of Privatization.

Additionally, she served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Florida Shakespeare Theater, where she was instrumental in securing a lease from the Biltmore Hotel and raising significant funds to build a 200-seat theater.

Kiki’s commitment to excellence and her dedication to the well-being of all participants in the dog show circuit are reflected in her approach to leadership. Her expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, and organizational management will be invaluable in enhancing SHOW-SAFE‘s initiatives, ensuring that the organization continues to grow and make a meaningful impact.

In summary, Kiki Courtelis’ leadership as Chairperson will not only strengthen SHOW-SAFE‘s organizational foundation but also amplify its reach and effectiveness in addressing the critical issues it was founded to combat. Kiki carries her father’s slogan for their farm, “it’s performance that counts” to all that she does.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Kiki enjoys traveling, which includes spending time with friends and photography. She resides in Georgetown, Kentucky and most of her philanthropic endeavors include the arts, conservation and the well being of animals.

Diane is honored to join SHOW-SAFE as its inaugural Executive Director and is eager to work alongside the members of the Board of Directors in achieving the mission and vision of SHOW-SAFE. She is a solution focused, strategic leader who leverages the strength of collaboration in creating elevated outcomes. Diane looks forward to helping grow SHOW-SAFE into a powerful resource for the dog show community for generations to come.

Creating safe, respectful, ethical environments where every individual can thrive has been Diane’s lifelong focus. She began in Utah’s child welfare system as a caseworker doing joint investigations with law enforcement into child sexual abuse and then advanced through the child welfare system to eventually become the statewide child welfare director. During her five years as director, she was responsible for administering every aspect of the child welfare system, including strategic planning; stakeholder and legislative engagement; public policy; a $180,000,000 budget; and leading over 1000 employees in achieving best in class outcomes for tens of thousands of children and families.

Prior to serving as the Division of Child and Family Service’s Director, Diane also served three years as the statewide director of the Human Services’ Office of Licensing where she was responsible for setting and enforcing safety standards across a variety of licensed human service settings, including foster homes, adoption agencies, outpatient treatment, residential treatment, domestic violence shelters, detox centers, and more.

Her motto throughout her career has been to leave people and circumstances better than she found them. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology and her graduate degree is in public administration with a focus on both government and non-profit leadership.

Although Diane is new to the dog show world, she is an avid dog lover. She has had rescue dogs for the past 30+ years. Her current rescue is the smallest of them all – a 14 pound poodle chihuahua dachshund mini-schnauzer mix (say that three times fast!) named Maggie. Maggie was rescued from the streets of Juarez, Mexico, and Diane is fully enamored with this strange, gentle, ethereal creature.

In her spare time, Diane loves to read, hike, paddle board, play games, and travel. In 2023, she moved to a rural home in the Utah mountains where she enjoys the gorgeous sunsets and the wildlife watching. Diane and her husband are the parents of three incredible adult children and the grandparents of two adorable grandsons. Her family, including sweet Maggie, is her greatest joy.

Idi McConnie is the Vice Chairperson of SHOW-SAFE, where she leverages her extensive experience as a strategic planner and her unique ability to build sustainable organizations from the ground up. Her deep-rooted passion for the sport began in Puerto Rico, where she grew up showing dogs and Paso Fino horses. For over 30 years, she has been an active figure in the dog show circuit, advocating for the safety and well-being of enthusiasts and their canine companions.

In her current role as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Administration at the General Services Administration Office of Inspector General (GSA-OIG), Ms. McConnie oversees their critical functions such as Human Resources, IT, budgeting, contracting, acquisitions, and facility operations. Her 23-year public service career has established her as a skilled problem solver and project manager, adept at navigating and completing complex and controversial projects both domestically and internationally. Her leadership and professionalism have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the GSA-OIG Special Achievement Award and multiple Defense Information Systems Agency Non-Technical Team of the Year Awards.

Ms. McConnie holds a M.S. in Project Management and a B.A. in Communications. She is a graduate of the George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership: Executive Leader Program and the Villanova University: Strategic Organizational Leader Program.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. McConnie is deeply involved in civic outreach efforts, including the Puerto Rican American Women League and kennel clubs. She is a proud ambassador for DONATE LIFE and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. As an active public speaker and fundraiser, she has passionately advocated for  various charities. In 2023, she was invited to speak about Compassionate Leadership at the renowned Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency: Leadership Forum. Each year, she organizes a holiday gift drive, benefiting over 50 disadvantaged children in the Baltimore Metropolitan area through the United Way Assistance Program. Alongside her husband, she has bred and owned over 20 American Kennel Club champion English Pointers, including a prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Best-of-Breed Winner.

Ms. McConnie’s  professional experience and civic engagement make her uniquely qualified to advance the mission of SHOW-SAFE, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants and their beloved canine companions.

Lindsay Fetters is the enthusiastic Secretary for SHOW-SAFE, bringing a wealth of experience from her impressive background in large organizations and non-profit initiatives. With a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where she concentrated in Finance, Management, and Leadership, Lindsay currently serves as an Account Executive at Salesforce Inc., focusing on Healthcare and Life Sciences companies.

Lindsay has nearly fifteen years of experience with a national service dog organization, where she played a pivotal role in developing and managing impactful programs. Her initiatives include the K9 Kids Reading Program, which garnered national attention and was featured on NBC Nightly News, and a national youth-at-risk service dog training program that empowers juveniles in the justice system with valuable job skills. Additionally, her participation in Emory University’s fMRI Dog Project showcased her innovative spirit as she trained dogs to undergo complex experiments.

Growing up with a passion for dogs, Lindsay is a second-generation dog enthusiast who began showing at age four. She is dedicated to the Vizsla breed and competes in various venues, including AKC conformation and performance events. As a breeder under the Tradewind Vizslas name, she has achieved remarkable success, breeding two generations of Vizsla National Specialty winners, one of whom was the Number One Vizsla in 2019 and 2020, “Boomer,” who excelled at prestigious competitions like the Westminster Kennel Club and the AKC National Championship.

Lindsay’s unique blend of non-profit leadership, creative initiatives, and commitment to building supportive environments in AKC events aligns perfectly with SHOW-SAFE‘s mission. Her energy and innovative ideas will undoubtedly contribute to the organization’s efforts in empowering youth and fostering a positive community.

Dr. Haines has been a dedicated advocate for dog welfare and safety within the show community for over 55 years. Her journey in the world of dog shows began in 1968 when she first entered the show ring. Since then she continues to be an active participant in the dog show circuit, recognized for her unwavering commitment to excellence and the well-being of all canine participants.

Start in Dog Shows: At the age of 12, Dr.Haines was awarded Best Junior Handler at Westminster with her Golden Retriever. This was the beginning of her lifetime involvement within the dog sport as breeder, owner handler. While starting with Golden Retrievers, along the way with American Foxhounds and since 1996 has been a successful breeder, owner handler of English Pointers. During this involvement Dr. Haines has extensive club involvement with the American Kennel Club including serving 12 years on the Board of Directors of the American Kennel Club. In addition she was voted by her fellow participants as the winner of the 2016 Winkie, as the best owner handler.

Dr Haines is a graduate of the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. As a practicing Veterinarian, Dr. Haines has developed expertise which are critical to advancing the organization’s mission. Career highlights include:

She has served as a director, officer and culminating in President of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, In 2021 Dr. Haines was named the Veterinarian of the year by the OVMA.

Dr. Haines actively volunteers with OVMA and serves as a governors appointment to the commercial dog breeders advisory board , contributing her time and skills to oversee the care and condition of the commercial kennel facilities.

Dr. Haines’ skills and passion makes her an invaluable asset to SHOW-SAFE. Her contributions include first hand knowledge of the sport from competing in junior showmanship, to club activities to the management of the sport.

Dr.Haines became involved with SHOW-SAFE because of her deep appreciation to the sport for playing such a contributing factor in her career choice and in the direction it has provided her for achieving many lifetime achievements.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Dr. Haines enjoys sharing with her husband their livestock and grain farming operation in Ohio They continue to actively breed and exhibit Pointers.

Eddie Dziuk has been actively involved in the sport of purebred dogs for nearly 50 years. He obtained his first Beagle as a teenager in 1977 and finished its championship as a junior owner handler. He’s never been without the breed since. He has bred or owned more than 75 Beagle champions, including 5 National Beagle Club BOB Winners, and 11 All-Breed BIS Winners. His 3 best known dogs remain “Judy” Ch. Lanbur Miss Fleetwood, the top winning 13” Beagle of all time, and the two Westminster BIS winners, “Uno” Ch. K-Run’s Park Me In First, and “Miss P” Ch. Tashtins Lookin For Trouble. He remains active in the sport as an occasional exhibitor, AKC Delegate, and multi-group judge. Most recently he added a Golden Retriever to his home and is becoming a Hunt Test enthusiast as well.

Professionally, Eddie holds a BS in Economics, and an MBA from the University of Missouri. Eddie joined the Fortune 100 IT firm EDS straight out of college and spent the first 16 years of his professional career with them in growing positions of responsibility. Before leaving EDS, his final position was the Business Manager for all of EDS’ accounts with the USPS, a portfolio generating nearly $50M in annual revenues. In 2001, he was recruited for a position that would substantially alter his career trajectory. As the Chief Operating Officer of the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for 20+ years, he leads the organization in all areas of its day to day management and has the unique opportunity to combine his business and management experience with his love of dogs and passion and interest in canine health. He is a full time advocate for the purebred dog, and canine health and welfare promoting responsible dog ownership and breeding practices.

Eddie believes our sport provides young people an outstanding opportunity to grow, mature, and learn, all while spending time and interacting with our beloved dogs. They deserve to pursue their interest, passion, and joy in an environment that is safe for all concerned. Eddie is excited to join the board and leadership team of an organization dedicated to ensuring such an environment is fostered.

I started with Doberman Pinschers in 1976 and later fell in love with the Minature Pinscher breed in 1983. Since 2012, I have enjoyed a dear friendship and successful MinPin breeding partnership with Ms. Kimberly Byrd, AKC Registered Handler PHA, and Mr. Armando Angelbello under the prefixes “Kisa”, “Marlex”, and “Adare”.

As a Breeder-Owner Handler, I have successfully breed for the conformation ring. I enjoy producing both conformation champions and lovely companions. My MinPin show career has multiple wins at National & Regional Specialties; Group wins in Regular, Bred-By-Exhibitor, Owner-Handler, Puppy Groups, and have several Top 20 MinPins. My foundation Bitch was Dam of the Year, Honor Roll Dam, and her son is a Honor Roll Sire…no easy feat and the love of MinPin life.

Since 2003, I have been an active member of the Miniature Pinscher Club of America (MPCA) and a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA) since 2009. I have facilitated AKC MPCA breed seminars for prospective judges, the AKC/DJAA Advanced Judges Institute for Toy Breeds, and the Carolina Dog Judges Study Group (CDJSG). I also assist by representing the MinPin breed at various “Meet the Breeds” exhibition and Bench shows. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering my time to share, help and mentor individuals interested in MinPins and Dobermans as well as encoraging and mentoring individuals interested in Dog Showing.

In addition to my breeding and showing dogs, I delight in raising, training and showing horses and ponies. I am a member and Director with the Virginia Pony Breeders Association, a member with U.S. Equestrian Federation, U.S. Hunter Jumper Association, and the Virginia Horse Show Association. To participate in show as an Active Amateur in any of Horse show events you have to be fully trained and certified with U.S. SafeSport training program. A program that has spread a wealth of sport excellence, safety and security among the exhibitors, trainers, handlers, and owners. I have been SafeSport certified since program inception November 2018 and have helped many others to complete the comprehensive training.

I have a M.S. National Security Studies from the National War College (NWC), Washington D.C., Masters Degree in National Security from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., B.A. Industrial Psychology/Minor Statistics from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, VA and I am an Honor Graduate from the Defense Leadership and Management Program. I served as an Acquisition Corp Level III Senior Program Executive for the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense (OSDHD). I retired from the U.S. Government after thirty-three years of public service. My government career culminated with receiving the Distinguished Civilian Service Award which is the highest civilian award given by the United States Department of Defense.

My experience and public service make me highly qualified to contribute to SHOW-SAFE vision, mission and functions. It is my desire to ensure a safe, secure and inclusive environment for all engaged with both the canine and equine show worlds.

Kathy Musto is the Marketing Committee Director of SHOW-SAFE, where her love and devotion for the dog show community and her educational background uniquely qualify her for this organization. Kathy has been dedicated to the dog show community her entire life. Growing up in the show community with her family has given Kathy a lifetime of knowledge and experience about the inner most details of the dog show world. Throughout her time showing both as a Junior Handler and with her family she advanced her love for the sport as she continued to become an AKC Registered Handler. Her commitment to the dog show family has extended in her adult life with her dedication to her Breed and All Breed club memberships and Cluster Show chair duties. Recognized by the dog show community for her dedication to our sport both in and out of the ring.

Starting in dog shows when she was 4 years old, she has devoted a lifetime of love to the dogs and people in the community. Best known for her active breeding programs in French Bulldogs and Cane Corso, she also is a Professional Handler with her Husband Dave Musto. Kathy is the owner of Safari Handling and Training based in Columbus, Ohio. Accomplishing impressive wins over the years including multiple Best in Shows, Best in Specialty Shows, Group wins and prestigious breed wins at Westminster Kennel Club. She also holds top winning records in her breed, not only handling but owning many top dogs.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from The Ohio State University. This education holds an amazing foundation for her Marketing experience and knowledge for properly running a business. Kathy started Safari Productions LLC, a licensed member of the IATA organization where she owns this event planning company that has hosted a variety of Pet Expo, Grooming Competitions and Dog Shows. In addition to Safari Productions, she has expanded recently with her Marketing portfolio, along with her husband as newly purchasing an all-digital dog publication, American Dog Fancier. Kathy also has corporate experience being the Communications Manager for an organization serving Developmentally Disabled Individuals, where she manages a team of employees. In this field she works closes with those individuals the company supports and has broaden her compassion for humanity. As the Communications Manager she oversees the social media accounts, newsletter, marketing materials, company promotions and events.

Kathy is a lifetime member of Central Ohio Kennel Club, a not-for-profit organization, where she has held multiple positions ranging from Board of Directors to President for multiple terms. Continuing to give back to the community she is also the Show Chairman for COKC and has been for many years, hosting two clusters a year in Columbus.

Kathy’s professional experience with her lifetime of dedication and achievements in the industry qualify her as an excellent team member for SHOW-SAFE. Her devotion is to bring back the words “dog shows are a family sport”!

Lydia began in dogs after years of watching dog shows on TV and dreaming of being in the sport. Lydia grew up the only child of two professional hunter/jumper horse trainers with her father also being a judge. She received her first show dog, a Standard Schnauzer puppy, for her 9th birthday. From there she traveled and learned from many breeders and professional handlers who mentored her in the sport. At 12 she got her first Bedlington Terrier from Laurie Zembrzuski and Gaby Gilbeau of the acclaimed LAMZ Bedlington Terrier kennel. After several years of learning the breed she became very successful in both the breed and juniors ring. At 15 she was Best Junior Handler at both Westminster and the World Dog Show in Milan, Italy. By the time she was 18 she had won Best of Breed at 2 Bedlington Terrier National Specialties, holding the record for the youngest handler to do so. In recent years she has added Pointers to her household, handling several top 5 pointers and accumulating a number of wins with the help of her co-breeder and mentor, Tina McDonnell under the prefix of Southern. She’s been a breeder of champion Standard Schnauzers, Bedlington Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Toy Manchester Terriers, and Pointers. As the daughter of two famous horse show professionals, her life has always been focused on animal sports and events. A graduate of High Point University with a B.A. in Communications, Lydia now lives in Lebanon, IL with her boyfriend and many dogs.

Member of the APC – prior board member, BTCA, and SSCA. Her mother is very excited for her to be putting her degree to use with this organization! She has seen how the implementation of SafeSport has helped the horse show community and wants to bring that movement to the dog show world.

Rémy L. Smith-Lewis has been a dedicated advocate for dog welfare and safety within the show community for over 24 years. His journey in the world of dog shows began in 2000 when they first entered the ring with their beloved English Springer Spaniel, the later on Portuguese Water Dogs. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the dog show circuit, recognized for their unwavering commitment to excellence and the well-being of all canine participants.

Rémy L. Smith-Lewis began his love for the sport of Purebred dogs at the age of ten when his mother took him to his first dog show – Golden Gate KC in San Francisco, CA. He started competing in Junior Showmanship and began working as an assistant for top handlers, giving him the experience to learn grooming, training, and animal husbandry. He attributes his success in the sport to all of the talented handlers, breeders, and dog people who taught him the foundation of dogs and encouraged him to never stop learning. Most importantly, he learned early on that dogs ALWAYS come first; this has been a guiding principle throughout his tenure in the sport.

Rémy is a preservation breeder, owner, and handler of Portuguese Water Dogs under the Rémis Kennels prefix, with multiple Group winners, Best in Show titles, and a National Specialty winner to his credit. A licensed Junior Showmanship judge, Rémy is also actively involved in the dog fancy community. He serves as Vice President of the Santa Barbara Kennel Club and is a board member of the Del Valle Dog Fanciers Association, as well as a member of the Morris & Essex Kennel Club and The Portuguese Water Dog Club of America

Tommy Millner is a member of the Board of Directors where he will bring his extensive corporate board and non profit board experience to bear. His background in the sport of purpose bred dogs spans over 35 years. Tommy and his wife Merry Jeanne have been passionately involved in every aspect of the sport to include Breeders under the Sendero Kennel name, AKC delegate, Parent Club Director, Show Chair, AKC CHF Director and member of the Board of the OFA. Presently, he is a member of the Briard Club of America, Oconee River Kennel Club, Furniture City Kennel Club and the Westminster Kennel Club.

Tommy is retired from the full time duties as a CEO having sold Cabela’s to Bass Pro Shops in 2017. During his 8 years at Cabela’s the value of the company grew from $500m to $5.0b. Prior to Cabela’s, he served as the CEO of Remington Arms from 1994 until 2009. His first CEO job was at furniture manufacturer Pilliod Cabinet Company from 1987 until 1994. At both Remington and Pilliod he built great teams who built incredible value for their respective shareholders.

Mr. Millner holds a BA with honors in Classics from Randolph Macon College where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 1976. He has served on the boards of several significant public and private companies to include Best Buy where he served as the chair of the Audit Committee, Total Wine and More, Bushnell, Stanley Furniture Company, Lazydays RV, Trulieve and Menards. His non profit board experience includes Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground, Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and the Randolph Macon College Board of Trustees.

He looks forward to being involved with SHOW-SAFE and is confident that it will be a force for good in our sport.

Angela Lloyd is a highly respected and beloved second-generation dog fancier whose extensive business and leadership knowledge makes her an invaluable asset to the SHOW-SAFE organization. Her journey in the world of dogs began at an early age, showcasing her father’s German Shepherd Dogs and Pembroke Welsh Corgis. As soon as she was eligible, she excelled in junior showmanship, culminating in prestigious achievements such as Best Junior Handler at the Westminster Kennel Club and Best International Junior Handler at CRUFTS in 1998.

Angela’s passion for dogs deepened during her 10-year apprenticeship with professional handlers Robert and Jane Fowler, where she developed a particular love for Dachshunds. The Fowlers gifted her a Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund in 1994, sparking her breeding journey under the ALEGNA prefix. Her commitment to her breeding program is a testament to her dedication and expertise. After that experience, Angela apprenticed for professional handler Andrew Doyle for 2 years. During which time she learned more about coat care and conditioning of many sporting and working breeds.

After earning a BS in Business Finance from Penn State University, Angela embarked on a successful career as an all-breed professional handler. Her work has been multi-faceted amongst Sporting, Hound, Working and Toy Breeds. Dogs in her charge have earned her multiple AKC All-Breed Best in Show wins. Notably, she piloted “Hickory,” the Scottish Deerhound, to Best in Show in 2011. In 2017 Angela earned the coveted Show Dog of the Year Award – Professional Handler of the Year. Additionally, she has co-bred Scottish Deerhounds with Robert S. Dove DVM and Cecilia Dove, as well as Flat-Coated Retrievers with Dr. Robert Rickert and Sonja Rickert.

Angela’s dedication to the sport extends beyond her own achievements. As a longstanding member of the American Kennel Club’s Registered Handlers Program, she has served as the AKC RHP Regional Representative for the Mid-Atlantic Region for over a decade. As a licensed Junior Showmanship Judge, she is passionate about mentoring dozens of junior handlers, recognizing them as the future of the purebred dog community.

Her experience and insights into the dog sport underscore the importance of SHOW-SAFE and its role in fostering a positive environment for all participants. Angela’s sound advice and leadership make her a driving force behind the organization, inspiring those around her and contributing significantly to the growth and success of the dog sport community.

Julian McConnie has been a dedicated advocate for safe dog shows within the show community for over 35 years. His journey began in 1989 when his now wife, Idalia, introduced him to the sport in Puerto Rico. Julian quickly developed a passion for Pointers and has since become a constant figure in the dog show circuit, recognized for his unwavering commitment to excellence and canine well-being.

Julian’s professional background spans over 35 years in Hospitality Management, Interior Design, Facility Management, IT infrastructure, and Project Management. He has successfully managed large-scale commercial and government projects, earning a stellar reputation for his innovative thinking and ingenuity. Julian’s expertise in starting organizations is evident in his founding of McCleaned Cleaning Services in 2013, which has since become one of the top janitorial and porter services companies in the Washington, DC area.

As Chief Information Officer (CIO) at SHOW-SAFE, Julian brings executive leadership experience and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, both crucial for advancing the organization’s mission. He is highly regarded for his professionalism, self-starter attitude, extensive networking, and affable character. Julian holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Julian is deeply involved in civic outreach efforts, including the Knights of Columbus and kennel clubs. He is a proud ambassador for DONATE LIFE and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. As an active public speaker and fundraiser, he has raised over $500,000 for charitable organizations. He is most proud of his membership since 2019 in the Johns Hopkins Hospital Family Advisory Council, where he works to enhance patients’ quality of life.

Alongside his wife, Julian has bred and owned over 20 American Kennel Club champion English Pointers, including a prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Best-of-Breed Winner. His dogs have earned Best in Show at AKC as well as FCI. His diverse professional experience, particularly in IT and organizational development, along with his civic engagement, make him an invaluable asset to SHOW-SAFE, where he continues to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants and their beloved canine companions.

Lynn Graham Fitzgerald is a Director at SHOW-SAFE and has been a dedicated advocate for dog welfare and safety within the show community for over 20 years. Her journey in the world of dog shows began in 2003 when she first entered the ring with her family’s beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback. Lynn purchased her first show dog in 2003 and exhibited as an owner handler for several years. As the years passed, her commitment to the breed and sport expanded to include Pointers and provided her with the opportunity to share her dogs with the fancy. Some notable accomplishments include Multiple Best In shows, National Specialty Wins, Regional Specialty Wins, Westminster Wins and several #1 Breed and All Breed winners here in The States and New Zealand.

Lynn became involved with SHOW-SAFE because of her deep commitment to providing a nurturing and safe space for young people to engage and enjoy in the sport of showing dogs and motivates her volunteer work, ensuring that Show-Safe continues to support and protect the dog show community.

Lynn brings a wealth of professional experience to SHOW-SAFE with an Executive background in Change Management, Strategic Planning, PMO leadership, and supporting business needs through innovative technology solutions. She has developed expertise in program and project management, change managements, organizational and business process design and improvement, which are critical to advancing the organization’s mission. Her skills in strategic planning make her an invaluable asset to SHOW-SAFE. Her contribution in the transformation of passion, principles and ideals into actions that have led to the formation of SHOW-SAFE is something she is proud of.

Lynn, enjoys travel, gardening, home renovation and spending time with family and friends. Lynn resides with her brother just outside of Lexington KY with her 2 Ridgebacks and 2 Pointers and is always eager to share her love and knowledge of the canine world with others.

Sophia Rogers’ journey in dog shows began when she first entered the ring with her Great Dane, Joy, as a newcomer to the sport. She achieved numerous accolades, including multiple Best Junior Handler wins and the prestigious title of Best Junior Handler at Westminster. Mentors like Carissa Shimpeno and Gwen DeMilta played key roles in her development, teaching her the value of trust and safety in the sport. These early experiences ignited Sophia’s passion for dog shows and her commitment to excellence and mentorship within the community. Her passion for giving back to the sport led her to become a Juniors Judge, as well as a mentor to many young participants in the sport.

Sophia Rogers is an experienced educator, having taught internationally in Ghana, Africa, and participated in the TIME conference. She has also contributed to United Nations Day, celebrating diversity and community worldwide. Currently, she works at a charter school in New Jersey, serving underprivileged students. She advocates for children’s rights, equality, and the belief that children are the key to a brighter future. With a career rooted in both education and community engagement, she has dedicated herself to empowering young minds and fostering inclusive environments where all students can thrive. Sophia’s work reflects her commitment to shaping a more equitable society, where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Her leadership embodies this ethos as she continually strives to cultivate environments where diversity is celebrated and all voices are heard.

Sophia’s involvement with SHOW-SAFE is rooted in her belief that the values instilled during childhood—such as responsibility, compassion, and fairness—are equally essential in the dog show world. She is committed to ensuring that young participants not only master the technical skills of the sport but also embrace the importance of safety, self-respect, respect for others, and ethical conduct. She wants every child to find their strong, beautiful voice, to build confidence, and to feel safe. Sophia remains a strong advocate for empowering youth, fostering their personal growth, and contributing to the betterment of society as a whole.

I have been a member of the dog show community for over 45 years. My mother, Patty Crowley, purchased our first German Shorthaired Pointer as a family dog. After attending our first dog show, next thing you know we are traveling the east coast with a string of dogs and breeding GSP’s and Vizslas, and added our kennel mascot, an English Cocker. In addition to handling, I have been entrusted to judge sweepstakes in both breeds several times, and most recently had the honor of judging sweepstakes at the 2024 Vizsla Club of America.

Professionally, I hold a degree in Psychology and have spent the bulk of my career in Child Protection. I have been employed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families, for over 26 years, first as a Social Worker, and then Social Work Supervisor. I am recognized for my ability to quickly assess situations, identify risk and safety factors, and identify and secure appropriate treatment and community supports. I am also recognized for my court work and ability to provide strong testimony in court related matters. I also sit on a local Juvenile Review Board (JRB), which is a diversionary and prevention program utilizing restorative justice with first time juvenile offenders.

I feel my involvement in our show community coupled with my professional experience, passion for child safety, and my ability to navigate systems will be beneficial in my role with SHOW-SAFE.

On a personal note, my hobbies include cheering my son on in whatever he is involved with, as well as gardening. I currently reside in CT with a couple English Cockers.

Brody Cavanaugh is the Long Term Assistance Subcommittee Director, where he is able to lean on his expertise in social sciences and utilize his person-centered approach to assist everyone that he can. Brody is the fourth generation of his family to be involved in purebred dogs, primarily with Pointers and Beagles. As Brody has become more involved in the dog world over the years, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to inclusiveness, sportsmanship, excellence, and the well-being of all participants.

Brody holds a M.A in Human Services Psychology from The University of Maryland – Baltimore County, and a B.A. in Psychology from Miami University. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Behavior Analyst. In his current role as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Brody works closely with clients, families, and healthcare providers to lead an interdisciplinary team that is focused on reaching the best outcomes for his clients, with the goal of helping them gain independence, build skills, and address barriers to success. Brody has an unwavering commitment to all of his clients, and believes that a person-centered approach is the best way to help his clients reach their full potential.

Alongside his family, Brody has bred and owned multiple AKC champion Pointers and Beagles, and has enjoyed the company of other wonderful breeds such as Irish Wolfhounds, English Coonhounds, Border Terriers, Clumber Spaniels, and English Toy Spaniels. Outside of his professional life, Brody is a proud uncle of two incredible nieces. He and his wife live in Michigan, and enjoy spending time with family, friends, and their dogs.

Brody is committed to advance the mission of SHOW-SAFE, and believes that all dog sport participants and canine companions deserve a safe and inclusive environment.

Ms. Abraham Became involved in dog shows in the early 1990s with Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and German Wirehaired Pointers. Ms. Abraham has been extremely successful as a breeder/co breeder & Owner/co-owner in multiple breeds. 8 National Specialty Best of Breeds in 3 Breeds and a Top Dog Among All Breeds are her greatest achievements.

Ms. Abraham brings a wealth of management experience to SHOW-SAFE. In the commercial construction business for over 25 years and now retired, she estimated and negotiated government contracts for local and international work using union and nonunion labor sources. She is highly trained in Security and multiple levels of safety. She is skilled in project management, procurement & logistics.

Claire Abraham owns and operates Hidden Covey Farm LLC a pasture raised Red Angus Cattle, Berkshire Hog and Chicken operation. The farm hosts “Sunday Supers” and other events. HCF, LLC is host to Agricultural tours for local schools, special needs children and youth groups on a regular basis.
HCF, LLC is proud to be a strong advocate for the environment. 80% of the land is in a conservation easement. Acreage is protected for migrating birds and pollinators. All livestock are blocked from access to creeks to protect them from contamination. They are proud to have active bee hives and globally endangered butterflies. They are leaders in renewable agriculture practices.
Ms. Abraham resides at Hidden Covey Farm in Lovettsville VA with Josie her Spinone Italiano, a Pointer, 3 Chinese Cresteds and 2 Maltese.

Many years as a breeder, exhibitor and now a judge Ms. Abraham has attended dog shows across the United States, Europe and South America. She has seen changes in the sport of dogs over the last 30 years She is deeply committed to the mission of SHOW-SAFE.

Mr. Hoke is a second-generation dog man whose family began in the sport of pure-bred dogs breeding German Shepherds. In the following years Mr. Hoke and his family became successful Great Dane and Dachshund breeders under the Jamara prefix. Along with showing Great Danes as a youth Jason competed regularly in Junior Showmanship. Mr. Hoke then continued his career by becoming a professional all breed handler garnering many top awards in his career in every recognized group.

Following his career as a professional dog handler, Mr. Hoke began a culinary career earning two degrees from L’École De Cuisine and was awarded the Golden Toque for academic excellence. He was a chef at many esteemed restaurants such as the 3 Michelin Star, Inn at Little Washington, in Virginia. Currently Mr. Hoke resides in Madison, Wisconsin in the USA. Mr. Hoke has volunteered for Take the Lead, a charitable organization which assists people in the sport of pure-bred dogs when facing terminal illness or other catastrophic life events. Mr. Hoke also has worked with local leaders in Madison, WI to support and fund-raise for organizations such as GSAFE which provides safe and support environments within schools for LGBTQ+ youth. He has also worked with OUTREACH for fundraising to provide community building, health and human services, and racial justice advocacy.

Mr. Hoke has enjoyed great success in his judging career with appointments throughout the United States and worldwide judging in thirty two other countries. He has had the privilege of being invited to judge the National Specialties for twelve different breeds, along with the Great Dane National in six countries. Most notably he judged the Toy Group at the 2016 Westminster Kennel Club as well as the Junior Showmanship Finals at both Westminster, Crufts, and the World Dog Show. In 2022 Jason was nominated for Judge of the Year in the USA. Mr. Hoke is still active with Great Danes and served as the President of the Great Dane Club of America and sits on the Board of Directors for the Great Dane Club of America and the Pekingese Club of America as well as being the judges education committee chair for both clubs along with being the television commentator for Westminster Kennel Club on Fox Sports Network. Jason currently is the AKC Delegate for Chain O’Lakes Kennel Club and sits on the AKC Dog Show Rules Committee.

Mr. Hoke is excited to a part of the SHOW-SAFE team as he has always valued supporting not only the youth in the sport of pure-bred dogs, but also the safety and betterment of all involved.

Bill has been a dedicated advocate for dog welfare and safety within the show community for over 50 years. His journey in the world of dog shows began in 1974 when he first entered the ring with his beloved Akitas. Since then, he has become a well known show chair in the dog show circuit, recognized for his commitment to excellence and the well-being of all canine participants. In 2006 the Burland family open Travelda Farm an Equestrian Center, the family participates in Showing and Breeding Arabian Horses and has run a youth lesson program that has produced several National Champion Arabian horses and National Champion Youth Riders.

“My early years were focused on Akitas having a bred a Best of Winners at our Second National in 1976 as well as having several top 10 Akritas’s. Beginning in 2004 I elected not to exhibit while Show Chair at KCP (National Dog Show) and in 2014 resumed breeding and showing with Nova Scotia Duck Tollers under the Travelda Prefix, to date we have bred over 30 Champions/Grand Champions. For the past 15 years we have owned Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.”

Bill is a graduate of Fairfield University with a  BA & MBA and is a  graduate of Duke Fuqua School of Business (Executive Development)  he brings a strong professional background with executive management positions at AT&T, Lucent & Avaya as well as CitiGroup to SHOW-SAFE. With a background in Business Development & Operations, Bill was the Operational lead for the US Services organization at Lucent and subsequently Avaya as each was spun off from AT&T, creating a new organization. Bill actively volunteers with Bucks County Kennel Club and  Maryland Sporting Dog Association, contributing his time and skills as President of Buck County Kennel Club and Show Chair at MSDA. Their involvement in these organizations demonstrates their broad commitment to the welfare and safety of animals.

Bill became involved with SHOW-SAFE because of his deep commitment to the Sport of Pure Bred Dogs and the importance of creating and maintaining a Safe environment for all participants. His dedication to conformation dog shows motivates his volunteer work, ensuring that SHOW-SAFE continues to support and protect the dog show community.

Outside of his professional and volunteer work, Bill and his wife Lisa enjoy traveling. They reside in Quakertown, PA with their many dogs & horses and are always eager to share their love and knowledge of the canine world with others.

Maggie Peat is a dedicated breeder of standard longhair dachshunds, known for her commitment to producing high-quality, well-tempered dogs that excel in both the show ring and as beloved companions. As a second-generation Dachshund breeder, Maggie has been actively involved in the competitive world of purebred dogs for over 50 years. Maggie has bred and owned over 100 Longhair Dachshund champions and multiple All-Breed BIS Winners. Maggie has been a junior showmanship judge for over 20 years and recently became licensed to judge Dachshunds, PBGVs and Whippets.

Maggie is current President and Show Chair of the Santa Clara Valley Kennel Club and lifetime member of the Dachshund Club of America. As an active participant in dog shows her entire life she is dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs and a commitment to the welfare and safety of animals and all participants in the sport.

Beyond her work in the world of dogs, Maggie has over 25 years of experience in banking and investments. Maggie is a licensed fixed-income salesperson and brings a wealth of knowledge regarding banking, finance and investing to SHOW-SAFE.

Ms. Bruce showed her first dog at age four along side her parents, and grandparents. She was introduced into the dog world by her great grandmother. She has been a lifelong dog person – passionate about breeding, exhibiting, and animal welfare.

Pam is best known for her fifty-year connection with the world-renowned Afghans of Grandeur.
She has bred top winning Airedale Terriers under the Accolade prefix for the past twenty-five years.

Pam resides in Canada and is a CKC licensed all breed judge. She has traveled all over the world.
She is a liaison to the Ontario and Canadian governments for animal welfare. She has been declared an expert in breed identification.
She is also a member of an animal search and rescue team in the Niagara region.
Pam served for over a decade with the CKC discipline committee. She is currently a member of the vulnerable victims’ team – developing education for the CKC and its members.

Pam has developed and presented training in this same area of expertise for the AKC since 2020.
She also developed and presented education for Pure Dog Talk.

Pam is retired from The Toronto Police Service. She has an extensive background as a CSI Sexual assault/child abuse investigator having spent thirty-one years involved in major criminal case management. She specialized in DNA and cold cases involving vulnerable victims, interviewing and Dangerous Offenders/Long Term Offenders.

She has been a victim advocate both professionally and privately for almost forty years.
She has been declared the first sexual assault expert for the Ministry Of The Attorney General – investigating major cases.

In her private life Pam loves gardening, travel, basketball, and is a foodie. 

She is looking forward to this next chapter and working to ensure the safety and security of all involved in our awesome dog community.  Dogs aren’t our whole lives ~ but they sure make our lives whole.
